— 能作で大ぶりの酒カップづくり —
観光塾で富山の勉強をしたことで、富山の伝統工芸に興味を持つようになりました。
高岡は約400年の歴史を持つ鋳物の町。
その伝統を今に伝える代表的なブランドが能作です。
1月の澄んだ空気の中、高岡市にある
能作 で鋳物体験をしてきました。
今回挑戦したのは、大ぶりの酒カップ。
耐熱手袋をはめ、溶けた錫を鋳型にゆっくり流し込む瞬間は、思った以上に緊張感がありました。
銀色の液体が静かに広がり、やがて形になっていく様子は、まさに「ものが生まれる瞬間」
完成したカップは、ずっしりとした重みと美しい光沢をまとい、
自分の手でつくったという特別な存在になりました。
高岡には、こんな体験ができる場所があるのだと改めて実感。
静かにものづくりと向き合う時間は、とても心地よいものでした。
そして今夜は、このカップで一杯。
あの日の緊張を思い出しながら、ゆっくり味わおうと思います。
— Making a Large Sake Cup at Nousaku —
In the clear winter air of January, I joined a casting workshop at Nousaku in Takaoka City.
Takaoka is a town with over 400 years of metal casting history, and Nousaku continues that tradition in a beautifully contemporary way.
This time, I chose to make a large sake cup.
Wearing heat-resistant gloves, I slowly poured molten tin into the mold.
The moment required more concentration than I had expected.
The silver liquid spread quietly and gradually took shape — it truly felt like witnessing something being born.
When it was finished, the cup had a satisfying weight and a soft, elegant shine.
Knowing that I had made it myself made it even more special.
It reminded me that experiences like this are part of what makes Takaoka unique.
Spending time quietly engaged in craftsmanship was deeply refreshing.
Tonight, I’ll enjoy a drink in this cup —
and remember that calm, focused moment in the workshop.
